Airbus Group (formerly European Aeronautical Defense and Space Company, abbr. EADS) is the largest European corporation in the aerospace industry. The Company is incorporated in Amsterdam while headquartering in Paris (France) and Ottobrunn (south of Munich, Germany). Airbus Group is the world's second aerospace company. And it is also the second in Europe by arms and military equipment manufacturing (after BAE Systems Company). The company is engaged in development; production and selling of civil and military aircrafts launch vehicles and associated systems. Airbus Group is a sole shareholder (100%) of Airbus S.A.S., which manufactures passenger-carrying, cargo-type and military transport aircraft. The concern also has various shares in such companies as Eurocopter (helicopters), EADS Astrium (satellites), ATR (turboprop aircraft), Dassault Aviation and Eurofighter GmbH (attack jets), MBDA (missiles), Airbus Military. Airbus Group is one of the major contributors of the International Space Station construction. Its EADS SPACE Transportation branch is responsible for the Columbus laboratory module as well as for the creation and orbital injection of the first European unmanned resupply vehicle ATV. The number of employees in the Airbus Group hits 150 thousand people on seventy industrial estates from all over the world. As of 2017, the concern's revenue totaled € 66.9 bln with the net profit of € 2.87 bln.
