The European branch of Freedom Finance is now a member of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), since May 6, 2020. AFME's key mission lies in improving the cooperation among financial organizations, regulators, and law enforcement authorities, in order to prevent financial crimes.
Based on the expert knowledge and the experience of the Members, the Association creates legislation initiatives in the European capital markets domain. Such legislative proposals are then taken into consideration by the EU authorities and those of some individual European countries.
The AFME includes the EU and global banks, brokers, law agencies, investors, and other important market players. Among the AFME members, one can mention JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg L.P, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Standard & Poor's, to name just a few. Freedom Finance is now one of them, too.
"This is a very important step forward", says Evgeniy Tyapkin, Executive Director at Freedom Finance Cyprus Ltd, who is in charge of the company's AFME membership. "During six months before becoming a member of the Association, our business processes and expertise were carefully audited in multiple stages. We were compliant with the EU Law before, but now we'll also be taking part in its improvement. This will help us to better protect the investors, support the EU countries economic growth, and benefit the society.
